Christopher McMurray has been a FINRA arbitrator and mediator for eleven years. As an arbitrator, he has sat on almost 100 arbitration panels – almost always as the Chairperson. As a mediator, this experience enables him to guide the parties to resolution by explaining how an arbitration panel would view the parties’ respective positions. He can identify each side’s strengths and weaknesses, and discuss how their positions would resonate with a panel. With this information, the parties are then in a better position to reach a mutually agreeable resolution and avoid the uncertainty of an arbitrated decision.
